The Season Begins
Yahoo! The 2021 season got underway on June 1 with bright skies and a good breeze. There were seventeen skippers who dipped their keels to start the season with a twelve-race regatta. Of course, Bill Quayle joined us in a supervising capacity, making the skipper count eighteen.

Clock's on! Al Stevens!

We certainly missed our longtime scorekeeper Ellen Koehler, but drawing for a weekly schedule of skippers, we successfully filled the score sheet. Starting out that schedule was Bob Brennan under the guidance of B. B. Wright, our US12 scorekeeper, plus a little relief work from Don McBride.

First one over the water ski jump wins!

Out on the Water
As usual, the competition was tight. In the Master Class it was Tim Wright at the top of the leader board with Don Cundy in second, Don McBride third, Denis Boisvert fourth, and Al Posnack fifth.

In the Sailor Class it was Steve Leker who was victorious, followed by Paul McBride second, Jack Minahan third, and Bruce Brown tied with Anthony Quinn for fourth.

Putting some English on it.
A Clean Start for US12s

Tim’s June 2 US12 Report
The seven participants on June 2 had a great day for the first day of scoring US12 races. The winds were typical winds for Back Bay with some gusts and some lulls, but overall outstanding breezes for our purposes. Thanks to B. B. Wright for scoring and keeping us moving. Even with an added fifth race mark, we still completed eleven races. Paul McBride, Paul Wallace, Bruce Wilhelm, Don Cundy, Jim Opie, John Simms, and Tim Wright all had a very pleasant two hours, with everyone having at least one race placing in the top three. Up and down the fleet the positions changed frequently. It was just the kind of racing we all enjoy.

We welcomed John Simms back into the group. He is still doing well and finished second on the day. Don Cundy was right behind in third, and Jim Opie in fourth.  It was a great afternoon of sailing, and we wish for many more just like it.

Thanks to those who came and shared in the fun. We look forward to other members rejoining us.

John Simms 101
